Certificates and testing of continuous rooflights

A summary of the documents confirming the certification of the management systems at STEF-BUD Sebastian Stefaniak and the properties of its continuous rooflights and skylights. The ISO certificates were issued by LL-C (Certification), while the ITB classifications and the fire classification report were issued by the Instytut Techniki Budowlanej (ITB — Building Research Institute, Warsaw). Every document can be downloaded as a PDF.

The ITB classifications and report are issued in Polish; the ISO certificates are available in Polish and English.

ITB classifications of continuous rooflights

PN-EN 14963:2006

The Instytut Techniki Budowlanej, Department of Building Elements Engineering in Warsaw, tested continuous rooflights of the STEF-BUD system and issued six classifications to PN-EN 14963:2006 (Roof coverings — Continuous rooflights of plastics with or without upstands). The tests covered resistance to upward and downward load, impact resistance and watertightness. Each classification applies to specific samples of the stated dimensions and construction.

Fixed barrel-vault continuous rooflight KL01-01833/25/Z00NZE

Confirmed properties
  • resistance to upward load UL 1000 (wind suction, 1000 Pa)
  • resistance to downward load DL 750 (snow, 750 Pa)
  • resistance to small hard body impact (hail) — pass
  • resistance to large soft body impact SB 300 (safety in case of a fall, drop height 300 mm)
  • watertightness at 0° to the horizontal — pass

Key to the designations

UL
resistance to upward load, i.e. wind suction; the number gives the load value in pascals, e.g. UL 1000 means 1000 Pa (clause 6.4.1 of PN-EN 14963:2006).
DL
resistance to downward load, i.e. snow; DL 750 and DL 1125 mean 750 and 1125 Pa respectively (clause 6.4.1 of the standard).
SB
resistance to large soft body impact, tested from the drop height given in millimetres (safety in case of a fall); SB 300 means a drop height of 300 mm (clause 6.4.2.2 of the standard).
Small hard body
resistance to impact by a small hard body such as hail; the test is carried out with a steel ball (clause 6.4.2.1 of the standard).
Watertightness 0°
the watertightness of the rooflight checked at 0° to the horizontal, and therefore also on a flat roof (clause 6.3 of the standard).

An ITB classification is a document confirming the test results for a specific sample in respect of the properties tested. As stated in the classification itself, it is neither a document authorising the product to be placed on the market nor equivalent to a certificate of conformity issued by a certification body; the fire classification report in turn states that it is neither a technical approval nor a product certificate.

03NRO

External fire performance of roofs — class BROOF(t1)

PN-EN 13501-5:2016

The ITB Fire Research Department classified roofs with skylights and continuous rooflights manufactured by STEF-BUD Sebastian Stefaniak as class BROOF(t1) to PN-EN 13501-5:2016 (method 1), on the basis of tests carried out by the ITB Fire Testing Laboratory to CEN/TS 1187:2012 (test 1). According to the report, the classification applies to end uses in accordance with the Polish technical conditions for buildings and their location, and corresponds to the ‘non-fire-spreading’ (NRO) designation within the meaning of the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure of 12 April 2002. Report no. 01392.2/26/Z00NZP of 21 May 2026 extends classification no. 00662.2/23/Z00NZP. In four test series of four samples each, at a pitch of 15°, no burn-through and no burning droplets were recorded. Upward fire spread was 0–0.095 m against a criterion of less than 0.7 m, and downward spread 0–0.06 m against a criterion of less than 0.6 m.
